Addressing the Full Needs of Our Patients

treating people not patients book coverOur ITI study club, one of 800+ such professional organizations worldwide, provides a great channel of communication in which we can meet with our local dental partners and their teams. We organize guest speakers for continuing education insight and interactive discussions regarding today’s latest developments and treatment approaches in implant dentistry. Often, like this month, the topics encompass ways in which we can not only best serve our patients clinically, but more holistically.

Treating People Not Patients

This session’s guest was Dr. Michael Sonick, a dental implant surgeon and international lecturer from Connecticut.  His insightful book titled “Treating People Not Patients” is a fundamental philosophy to which we’ve always ascribed. At South Florida Center for Periodontics & Implant Dentistry, we pride ourselves on providing a family atmosphere in which our connection with each other and our patients means not only ensuring the highest clinical outcomes but comfortable, caring ones.

We also know it’s important to always appreciate our patients’ point of view and to really hear them when we discuss concerns, goals and expectations. We also want to provide an environment where we can motivate our patients to optimize their oral health and overall well-being. Like Dr. Sonick, we recognize how important it is to have our entire team provide a “wow” experience that alleviates patient fears and establishes trust within our first-class, impeccable office environment.

The International Team For Implantology

This study club, one of several professional groups we sponsor here at South Florida Center for Periodontics & Implant Dentistry, is affiliated with the International Team for Implantology (ITI), a renowned, global association of dental implant professionals. Our doctors are active participants in ITI conferences. They frequently share their ideas and clinical experiences in implant dentistry with international colleagues, like this summer’s recent conference that actually took place right here in Florida.
