Florida’s International Dental Implant Conference—We Were There!

This summer has been an especially exciting time for all of us here at South Florida Center for Periodontics & Implant Dentistry for several reasons.

Our periodontal specialists were thrilled to both lecture and participate in the International Team for Implantology (ITI) Congress North America, held June 15-17^th in Miami. Our doctors were among 30 international speakers. It was wonderful to see so many of our local dental colleagues among the hundreds of specialists attending.

At a “technology pod” sponsored by Osstell®, Dr. Ganeles presented “Engineering and Communicating Treatment Plans,” showing colleagues how to provide patients a superior treatment outcome by improving communication between doctors and patients by efficiently collecting data, organizing it and converting it back to simple visual images.

Dr. Ganeles worked with Osstell AB (Gothenberg, Sweden) to create a software program called the “Consultation Tool” which is an upgrade from DentalImplan®, which he created in the early 2000’s. It’s all part of our continued efforts to deliver today’s most comfortable, safest, accurate and fastest periodontal experience.

Dr. André De Souza presented “The Role of Digital Implant Planning and Guided Surgery on Simultaneous or Staged Horizontal Bone Augmentation Procedures.” With virtual implant planning and guided surgery, we can precisely visualize soft and hard tissue in the mouth to secure your implant in an ideal digitally planned position.

Indeed, digital technologies in implant dentistry, as championed at our practice, improve communication and decision-making processes, increase treatment precision, and reduce surgical invasiveness and treatment time in a predictable manner.
