At South Florida Center for Periodontics & Implant Dentistry, we’re excited to tell you about another revolutionary innovation we’ve introduced to benefit our patients— AI technology.

Our new FDA-cleared AI-powered measurement tool helps both our doctors and hygienists more easily measure radiographic bone level (RBL), the important measurement of the height of the alveolar bone surrounding the roots of teeth.

This interproximal (space between teeth occupied by gum tissue) tool is a valuable supplement in the earlier detecting and diagnosing of periodontal disease. The AI tool represents a big leap forward in digital dental x-rays which have seen virtually little improvements since they first became popular in the 1990s.

AI helps us provide you with even more consistent and accurate diagnosis of our digital dental x-rays, highlighting areas of decay, bone loss, hardened dental plaque and root canal infections. There are an estimated 700 offices in the US that are currently using this new technology, but very few specialty offices like ours.
