We’re thrilled to announce that Dr. Ovadia Chocron has joined our practice at South Florida Center for Periodontics & Implant Dentistry. He is now accepting new patients.

Dr. Chocron was a successful dentist in Montreal before deciding to relocate to sunny Florida where he completed his residency in periodontics. Dr. Ganeles, who has been teaching at Nova Southeastern University for 27 years, rated him as one of the top residents, along with Drs. Norkin and Zfaz to come through this program!

In Dr. Chocron, we’re delighted to have found an intelligent, energetic, skilled, experienced and passionate doctor who now offers our patients another excellent option for your periodontal and dental implant needs. He clearly shares our practice goal of always offering you the highest standards of care and exceeding your expectations.

Dr. Chocron graduated with distinction from McGill University, arguably Canada’s best university. He then completed a hospital residency in general dentistry (like most of the other doctors at SFCPID) at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY where he treated dental emergencies, inpatients, performed operating room procedures, learned internal medicine and anesthesiology. These are not subjects that are taught at any other dental school or residency program.  He then returned to Montreal and practiced general dentistry in a multi-specialty group practice.

After a short time, he became a little bored and frustrated at being a “jack of all trades but master of none” and decided to pursue the specialty of periodontics at Nova Southeastern University. There, he excelled and participated in some extracurricular activities which included a first-place research award from the esteemed International Team for Implantology (ITI). He, like our other doctors, also shared his knowledge by lecturing to other dentists and students. His topics include the oral-systemic medical link, applications of implant dentistry, periodontal disease management to save teeth, and soft tissue procedures.

We couldn’t be more delighted to have him as part of our team and are confident you will agree when you set up a consultation and meet Dr. Chocron for yourself!
