Hundreds of our patients still flock to south Florida each year to step away from the cold north. We’re thrilled to note that some of these folks have been coming to us for years, with communication smoothly shared between our practice and offices in northern locations. Our doctors see patients who come down for a few weeks or months of the year or perhaps have recently re-located.
Keeping Up with Periodontal Health
Many periodontal and dental implant patients need to be seen every few months for deep cleaning. Keeping up with visits here while maintaining relationships with experts elsewhere will help you stay ahead of the curve. If you need a fabulous gum and tooth specialist, one of our six dental specialists will be happy to “share” you with a northern practice. Please keep in mind that, even with our extensive staff, we book up very quickly.
Dental Emergencies
Despite routine oral healthcare maintenance, periodontal and dental implant issues can occur. We will address emergency issues whether you are a regular patient here or not. Fractured teeth, signs of infection (pain, swelling, mobility), excessive bleeding, or pain should never be ignored. We’ll strive to see all emergency cases promptly to help you avoid further discomfort.
One Final Thought
A cool spell can mean a drop in humidity even in Florida, making it drier out than you think. Cold weather (and certain medications you may be taking no matter where you live) can decrease saliva production which is important for helping prevent dental decay. Drinking more water is one easy fix!
